Wikileaks: “Elizabeth’s Bookshops more impressive than Kevin Rudd…”
When questioned about this revelation from the Wikileaks documents, a spokesperson for Elizabeth’s Bookshops said:
“It is not our practice to comment on confidential documents. That is what ‘confidential’ means.
All I can say is that rating Elizabeth’s Bookshops higher than Kevin Rudd is hardly startling news.”
At a press conference in Brisbane this morning, Foreign Minister Rudd said “One, it is water off a duck’s back to me. Two, I totally agree with the statement. Three, hm er I’ve forgotten number three. Oh yes, my job is to defend the Australian national interest. Four, the Australian national interest is to stop the bloody Poms from hanging on to the Ashes”. He then made a traditional Mandarin gesture which made no secret of his feelings about being rated below Elizabeth’s Bookshops on a world scale.
